Kathmandu, Aug 16 : Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded release of journalist Khem Thapaliya. Police had arrested FNJ member, writer and litterateur Thapaliya from the office of Jaljala monthly, Bagbazar, on August 10.
Issuing a press release on Friday, FNJ general secretary Ramesh Bista said that its serious attention was drawn towards the arrest and detention of journalist Thapaliya. FNJ concludes the attempts to file false case against Thapaliya is sheer violation of press freedom and freedom of expression. The FNJ also demanded to return the goods including computer and books seized from his office.
