Myagdi, Sept 18, The family of Moti Prasad Darji, who was beaten to death by a gang of three persons, has been left reeling without support. With the murder of Darji of Malika rural municipality-2 in Myagdi district, the sole breadwinner in the family, Santa Kumari, spouse of Darji, is struggling to provide for her five children.
“I am wondering how to manage two squares of meal a day for my children and myself and pay for their educational fees as there is not any income source,” said Santa Kumari tearfully. On September 5, a gang of three persons under the influence of alcohol broke open the door of his house and thrashed him to death while he was asleep.
Deceased Darji was providing for his family as a wage labourer. “My children are facing difficulties to continue their studies for want of financial help. I am worried about their future,” she said. She was also finding it difficult to even collect funds to conduct after-death rituals without money.
People are visiting the bereaved family to extend their condolences. Death of Darji has left the impoverished Darji family high and dry, said local resident Bishnu Pun.
