Consul general’s commitments

Kathmandu, July 23 : Honorary Consul Generals of various countries based in Nepal have expressed the commitment to work as a bridge to further strengthen the relations between the country they represent and Nepal.

Consul Generals of 46 countries gathered in the 12th annual general meeting of the Honorary Consular Corps Nepal (HCCN) in the capital today to make a joint commitment to working with a focus on the areas of common interest and welfare of the two countries.

Speaking as Chief Guest at the event, Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi expected active cooperation from the consul generals in realizing Nepal’s dream of ‘prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.

The AGM appointed honorary consul general of South Africa to Nepal Pradip Kumar Shrestha the new Dean of HCCN. Shrestha has been serving as consul general of South Africa since the past 17 years. Likewise, honorary consul general of Morocco Basant Kumar Chaudhary was appointed the Vice Dean.
