Betrawati, Sept 1 . : Floods triggered by incessant rain since Saturday night at different parts of Nuwakot have affected the normal life, causing damages to several houses.
According to the Area Police Office, Kharanitar, two houses were damaged by the flooding from the Koshgadhe stream at Tadi rural municipality-2 and at Tadi rural municipality-2 from Ghatte stream.
Some livestock were swept away by the flooding, putting six houses at Raluka of Tadi municipality-2 at risk of a landslide. A water grinding mill was also swept away by the flooding.
According to Area Police Office Police Inspector Naresh Mahato, a house of Shyam Bahadur Thapa at ward no 2 was buried by the landslide while a cowshed was swept away by the Koshgadhe stream. Similarly, Somnath Sapkota of the same locality lost his home, a grinding mill and a cowshed in the flood.
Besides, the flood has gushed to paddy crops cultivated in a large area.
Meanwhile, Trishuli-Kakani- Balaju Pasang Lyahmu road section has been obstructed due to a mud flood occurred after the Saturday night’s rain. Police Beat Kakaki said the flood obstructed the roadways at Bahramile and Khanikhola areas. Efforts are underway to resume the traffic.
