Kathmandu, March 23 : Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun attended a special reception hosted here on Saturday evening on the occasion of the 79th National Day of Pakistan.
Also present on the occasion were Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Prime Minister’s chief political advisor Bishnu Rimal, foreign advisor Dr Rajan Bhattarai, lawmakers, chief of diplomatic missions, former ministers, senior officials of the government of Nepal, citizens of Pakistan, media persons and dignitaries.
The reception was hosted by ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Dr Mazhar Javed.
Speaking on the occasion, ambassador Javed said the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Nepal has reached 59 years, and both the countries shared mutual relations ever since. He also wished Nepal’s goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ a success. Prior to this, a flag hoisting ceremony of Pakistan was held at the embassy of Pakistan in Maharajgunj.
In the event, special messages sent by President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Arif Alvi and Prime Minister, Imran Khan were also read out.
