Kathmandu, Nov 15: A group of literary people was gathered here to recite their creations for a specific purpose. ‘Limpiyadhura’, ‘Lipulek’, and ‘Kalapani’ were the common subjects in their writings. They were concerned about the ‘encroachment’ upon these Nepali territories by the Indian side, calling upon the latter to back off.
During the 85th Shanti Kabya Prabaha organised by the Human Rights and Peace Society here Thursday, they intensely protested through their creations the India’s move citing it as the ‘invasion on mutual trust’. The Society holds this type of event every last Thursday of a month. The gathering took time to pay tribute to the late Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota.
Similarly, Society founder Krishna Pahadi released a creation entitled ‘Mero Samjhana (My memories)’ by poet Atripta Pandey. Thirty-two poets including Gyanuwakar Poudel, Ram Bahadur Pahadi, Dr Jeevan Adhikari, Ratnanidhi Regmi, Dr Bam Bahadur Thapa Jitali, among other poets recited poems on the occasion.
