Call for extending 4G service to rural areas

Rupandehi, Oct 3, State 5 minister for internal affairs and law Kul Prasad KC said the 4G service launched by the Nepal Telecom should be extended to the entire local level.

In his address to a programme organised at NT Butwal office on Wednesday, the minister expressed his hope the collection of data and its management for the government would be easier if the service was reached out to all local levels.

He shared about the government preparations for establishing Academy of Information Technology in the state. NT regional director Surya Narayan Malakar said the use of 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution) network service was expected to be help in strengthening service delivery in education, health and social sectors.

As he said, a special technology has been connected in Kathmandu and Lumbini and there are 476 telecom towers alone in Lumbini region.

Butwal branch chief Ranjit Lohiya said the 4G service was important not only for the enhancement of mobile services but also for the expansion of company’s services in the long run.
