Lawmakers draw govt attention on contemporary issues

Kathmandu, Aug 22 : Lawmakers have drawn government’s attention on contemporary issues including growing road accidents in different parts of the country.

Speaking in a special hour of today’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, lawmakers opined that government should create the atmosphere that enables people to adopt safety measures to lessen road accidents.

Lawmakers Sarita Giri, Mina Pandey and Mahendra Ray Yadav stressed it in the meeting.

Similarly, lawmaker Yashoda Gurung Subedi pointed out the need of clearing road blockades caused by landslide in Manang district. Yagya Bahadur Bogati stressed on providing relief to the lighting affected people as eight people were injured in a lightning in Achham district recently.

Lawmaker Renuka Gurung viewed that government could hold talks with Indian sides to resolve problems relating to border and dam.

Moreover, Prem Suwal, Dila Sangraula, Sher Bahadur Tamang and Mahesh Basnet also spoke on the contemporary issues in the meeting.
