Home Minister claims of success in past year

Kathmandu, July 29 : Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that the annual programme and action plan developed by his Ministry in the previous fiscal year 2018/19 was successfully implemented. “The MoHA was largely successful in realizing the responsibilities that it had assumed in the previous fiscal, and will work to make it further successful by improving the shortcomings in the new year,” he said.

 

Speaking at the Annual Evaluation for FY 2018/19 and Ministry-level Development Problem Solution Committee meeting today, the Home Minister said peace and security were inevitable for attaining the goal of prosperity and hence funds should be allocated to the security sector accordingly.

 

Home Secretary Prem Kumar Rai said the performance of the Home Ministry was better in FY 2018/19 in compared to the previous years. “However, the trend of rushing through projects only towards the end of the fiscal got continuity, which needs to be improved based on better planning,” he said.

 

At the programme, National Planning Commission Programme Director Shivaranjan Poudel said the MoHA showed notable progress in realizing its goals for the previous fiscal year.

 

On the occasion, various subordinate agencies of the Ministry, including Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Department of Immigration, Department of Prison presented their respective annual progress reports.
