Baglung, July 20 : Five houses alongside the Kaligandaki corridor in Baglung municipality-13 in the district have been at risk of being washed away by soil erosion. Expansion of the corridor has caused soil erosion, thus putting these houses at risk.
The district natural disaster rescue committee has recommended relocation of the houses to safety. When asked, Chief District Officer Luk Bahadur Chhetri said the houses vulnerable to soil erosion would be shifted to safe area.
The municipality has also promised to provide Rs 25,000 to each house at risk of the disaster to manage their relocation to safety. The affected families are currently taking shelter in nearby abandoned houses and temple.
