Rasuwa, Nov 15: All the vehicles heading to Rasuwagadhi for goods import now are massively seen on the highway leading to Mailung. District Traffic In-charge Shiva Prasad Bhattarai said almost all goods-carrying vehicles being operated on Dhunche-Kerung route now are moving through the new highway towards Mailung from Betrawati with the Betrawati-Mailung-Syapurabesi highway coming into smooth operation again since last September 17.
A security check post has been already set up at Mailung for screening security along the highway going through the river banks. Daily hundreds of vehicles are seen plying on the highway. The Galchhi-Trishuli-Betrawati-Mailung-Syafrubesi road improvement project has expedited the improvements of roads from Galchhi of Dhading to Shanti Bazaar of Nuwakot, informed Ramchandra Pudasaini, a vehicle driver.
It would be easier to operate vehicles in the winter season as road widening has been done in most of the areas, he added. A vehicle has to pass through around 103-km distance to reach to Syafru Rasuwagadhi from Galchhi via Trishuli and Betrawati. As the Betrawati-Trishuli-Bhotekoshi route reduces 25-km distance it would not only decrease fuel price but also avoid innumerable turns and twists on the road, said entrepreneurs of Dhunche.
