Former Gurkhas Joint Satyagraha Struggle Committee’s protest

Kathmandu, Nov 13: The Former Gurkhas Satyagraha Joint Struggle Committee (FGSJSC), UK-Nepal has strongly protested the placing of Nepali territories as Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura in India’s political map recently issued by India.

A statement issued by FGSJSC on Tuesday states: “The Committee strongly objects to and protests the acts like imposing a border blockade on a sovereign country Nepal, encroachment upon thousands of hectares of its land and now the placement of Nepali territories Kalapani, Lipulek, among others in its map.”

It stated that India’s this move has disrespected the century-old contribution made by the Indian Gurkhas in India. The FGSJSC has called on India to immediately withdraw its forces from the above-mentioned territory and also to retain its map in status quo in line with the Sugauli Treaty. Committee coordinator LB Ghising has signed on the statement.
