Kathmandu, Aug 21, The two-day Marxism-Asian Philosophy International Conference concluded here today, issuing a two-point Kathmandu declaration.
The event held first time Nepal was attended by 300 representatives from several countries including Nepal, India, China, Germany and Britain. Nepal Sanskrit University (NSU), Nepal Open University and Marxia Gurukul (school) were its joint organisers.
The Conference announced to make continuous efforts for strengthening of Marxist and Asian ideology, knowledge and philosophy through open discussions and debate on the topics.
According to organising committee member secretary Dr Prem Raj Neupane, the Conference made a commitment to organising one national or international conference at least in a year.
Addressing the concluding session, Marxist analyst Mohan Baidya said it was indeed a positive that discussion about Nepal’s original philosophy to Marxism had begun in Nepal. Describing the Sanskrit as an origin of knowledge, he highlighted the need of a rigorous study about it.
NSU Research Center director Dr Kashinath Neupane, Marxia Gurukul (school) chair Sonam Sathi were of the view of extracting good contents from the Asian and Marxist philosophy for further research and study.
