Kathmandu, Aug 16 : The five-member task force formed to study status of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has been studying the documents of the state-owned airlines and holding consultations with the experts to identify problems plaguing the state-owned air service provider.
Coordinator of the task force, Sushil Ghimire, told the National News Agency that the team was looking into the documents and holding meetings and discussions with the experts to furnish the suggestions to the government to overhaul the NAC. “We have already started the work. We hold meetings with the NAC management. We have also sought the suggestions from the former Tourism Secretary and former general managers of the NAC,” informed Ghimire.
The task force formed after a meeting of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on April 7 ought to submit a report to the government.
The task-force comprises chartered accountant Subodh Kumar Karna, management expert Dim Prasad Poudel, captain Sudhir Shumsher Rana and joint-secretary at the ministry, Buddhisagar Laminchhane.
