Bhojpur, Aug 11, Ward no. 5 of the Arun rural municipality in the eastern region of the district has been announced a fully institutional delivery ward. As all the expecting mothers within the ward have been giving birth in health institutions, the ward has been announced so.
At a function held at the community building, former Constituent Assembly member Lokmani Dhakal announced the ward as the first fully institutional delivery ward. In the fiscal year 2018/19, a total of 61 woman delivered in the health institutions, according to the Yaku health post office chief Bhoj Raj Bhandair.
Of them, 37 were from ward no. 5 alone, with 36 delivering at the local health institutions and one in Dhankuta hospital. On the occasion, Chief of Arun rural municipality said that a special plan has been developed and implemented for the safety and security of the new mothers and their babies as well.
The municipality has been providing an assistance of rice, carom seeds, a chicken and some cash for the new mothers. With skills human resources and modern medical facilities, the Yaku health post is known as the model health post of Bhojpur district. It has won many awards for the same.
