Sarlahi, Aug 9, A bus carrying 45 people from Sarlahi headquarters Malangwa to Kathmandu plunged into the Trishuli river from Benighat Rorang rural municipality-3, Salanghat in Dhading this morning. At least three persons died when the bus skidded off the road into the river. So far 16 passengers have been rescued alive.
The deceased have been identified as Raj Narayan Ruaniyar of Barahmapuri rural municipality-4, Sarlahi, his wife Shova Rauniyar and nephew Saurabh Rauniya. The Shristi Deluxe bus (Na 6 Kha 7469) met with the accident at around 3.30 am this morning, police said.
The bus was carrying 45 people comprising 42 passengers from Malangwa and Haripur municipality of Sarlahi and three bus staffs, said the District Police Office, Sarlahi.
The passengers onboard were Khush Ranjan of Bishnu rural municipality, Momma Matlung of Kaudena rural municipality Shivanagar, Manish Raya of Laxmipur, Nabin Kumar Mahato of Kabilasi municipality Agarwa, Rakesh Rawat of Chakraghata rural municipality Belhi, Rabi Kumar of Aurahi, Ashish Kumar of Mujafarfur India, Dinesh Thakur of Malangwa municipality Gamhariya, Dhirendra Sharma of Parsamod India, Dilip Das of Arariya India, Rajnarayan Rauniyar of Brahmapuri rural municipality, Sanjeev Chaudhary, Arbind Singh, Anish Roy, Bhupendra Kumar, Rohit Shamim, of Malanwa,Sushil Shreevastav of Anil of Malangwa.
Among others were Bhagya Narayan Mahato of Ganeshiya Malangwa, Ram Babau Yadav of Larakawa India, Ajaya Thakur of Kuwari India, Yogendra Chaudhary and Ameet Lama of Haripur municipality. According to the district police office, bus driver Laxman Jamarkattel, helper Pramod Chaudhary, conductor Rishi Uprety were onboard.
The identities of 16 rescued have also been established. The rescued are Bhupendra Kumar Yadav, Anish Roy, Sunita Rokaya, Shikhar Kumar Mahato, Rakesh Baitha, Sanjaya Mahato, Jahender Thakur, Rohit Kumar Mandal, Shamim Raja Ansari, Dhirendra Thakur, driver Laxman Jamarkattel, Bijaya Roy Yadfav, Dinesh Thakur, Bhogendra Chaudhary and Rahul.
