Tanahun, Feb 7 : An artistic Kalika temple is being constructed at Kalika Forest Park in Byas Municipality-4.
The temple is being built on Malla-era Pagoda style by using wood, bricks and metal in order to develop it as a peculiar religious tourism site. It is being constructed within the Tanahun Kalika Martyr Peace Park stretching over 8 hectares of forest area.
So far, Rs 12 million has been spent for the construction works and still Rs 11.8 million has been estimated, shared Yek Bahadur Rana, Treasurer of Temple Construction Committee.
The temple construction has been taken ahead with cooperation from Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Local Development, Byas Municipality, District Coordination Committee, Tanahun, Tanahun Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Damauli Bazaar as well as on people’s participation.
“The government also has emphasized on preserving the temple as a religious tourism destination”, he added.
