Army starts action against 27 people on charge of irregularities during recruitment

Kathmandu, Oct 23,  Nepal Army (NA) has forwarded action against 27 people – four NA personnel and 23 civilians- for alleged irregularities during the recent recruitment process. According to the NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information, a army personnel has been kept under scrutiny and investigation has been forwarded against him for his involvement in accepting bribes for recruitment at the recruitment centre of Shree No 6 Battalion Office, Kailali.

Similarly, three fake examinees who took exam at recruitment centre at North-West Division Headquarter allegedly forging papers have been arrested. Likewise, four fake exam candidates were nabbed from recruitment centres at Shree no 24 Brigade Office in Jumla and Shree No 6 Brigade Office in Kailali.

Search for the real examinees was underway and four non-military personnel were held from three recruitment centres. Nepal Army is recruiting 5,800 army personnel for various posts through its 40 recruitment centres across the country as per its vacancy released on July 4, 2019.

The Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has emphasized that the recruitment process be free, fair and competitive since he took the leadership of one of the oldest institutions in the country, Nepal Army.
