Hetauda, Oct 2 , The Japanese government has pledged to provide financial assistance worth Rs 10 million for the construction of a school building at Sarikhet of Raksirang rural municipality-2 in Makawanpur district. The amount will be used to build a modern school building in the Praja Pragati Basic School.
The area has dominance of the Chepang community. A MoU on the same was signed between Deputy Chief of Mission in Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu, Yuzo Yoshioka, and principal of the School, Gopal Prasad Chaudhary, in the Embassy of Japan in Kathmandu today.
A six-room building will be constructed in the school where 80 per cent students were from the Chepang community. The assistance was made possible in positive intervention of Indra Bahadur Baniya, the main opposition Nepali Congress leader in the State Assembly 3. A modern sanitation facility would be built along with a bathroom.
The School is in a remote place. According to the MoU, the building will be built by Ashoj 14 in 2077 BS. Raksirang rural municipality chair Raj Kumar Malla was confident that teaching learning activities in the school would be more effective with the new building to be built.
