Kathmandu, Sept 30, Health services will continue as normal during the public holiday on the occasion of the Bada Dashain, Tihar and Chhat festivals. Accordingly, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has requested the local level government units to make necessary arrangement for the same.
The MoFAGA issues an 11-point request to all the metropolis, sub-metropolis, municipality and rural municipality, asking them to continue the health services during the long public holiday. The request was made in response to a communication from the head of the Health Coordination Division at the Ministry of Health, Mahendra Shrestha.
As per the request, the hospital disaster management committees will be put on a ready position with all hospitals, hospital pharmacy and ambulance service open round-the-clock. Furthermore, the health institutes along the highways and roadways are to be prepared for any eventuality of a medical emergency.
Accordingly, the Dashain and Tihar holidays for health workers will be managed to ensure regular services while special provision will be made to prevent Dengue and avoid scarcity for blood transfusion service. The contact number of the health workers will be put up in the emergency rooms of the medical facility.
