Biratnagar, Sept 27, An international film festival has been scheduled from November 8 to 10 in Dharan sub metropolis, Sunsari. According to the festival main celebration committee, 25 films from several countries will be presented during the festival going to be held as per the state government policy and programme.
A sub-committee has been formed under the coordination of Nepal Film Development Board chair Keshab Bhattarai to make necessary arrangements in regard with the festival. Similarly, other sub committees have also been constituted to facilitate arrangements for the event.
Festival main celebration committee coordinator and minister for internal affairs and law, Hikmat Kumar Karki, said there was a plan to develop Dharan into a ‘film city’. According to Bhattarai, during the festival period, cinema halls in Dharan, Itahari, Damak, Birtamod and Biratnagar will screen only Nepali films.
