NC demands immediate release of journalists in Doti

Kathmandu, Sept 16 : Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the earliest release of the journalists who voiced for the release of the reinstatement of three journalists affiliated with the Radio Nepal, Doti branch.

The trio, namely Prakash Bom, Sunita Rawal and Chakra Kunwar, were sacked recently. The arrested journalists are Ram Prasad Dahal, Ajay Babu Shivakoti, Janmadev Jaisi, Yam Birahi, Dilip Poudel, Min Bom, Chakra Kunwar, Prakash Bom and Yogendra Balayar. They are associated with the Federation of Nepali Journalists and Nepal Press Union, the press wing of Nepali Congress.

Issuing a press statement released by NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma on Monday, the NC has also called for reinstating those sacked journalists at the earliest. The major opposition party has maintained that the issue has been brought to the attention of the Prime Minister and urged the government to reach to a logical conclusion in this regard.
