Visa exemption agreement between Nepal and Bahrain discussed

Kathmandu, Sept 6 . Nepal’s ambassador to Bahrain Padam Sundas has invited two officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain to become the main guests at the programme to be organized on the National Day of Nepal.

Those invited for the occasion are Foreign Secretaries Dr Shaikha Rana Bint Lasa al-Khalifa and Dr Shaikha Abdulla bin Ahamad bin Abdullah al-Khalifa.
Ambassador Sundas extended the invitation in separate meeting with them, Nepali Embassy in Manama stated.

During the meeting, discussions were held on tourism promotion, trade expansion and diversification, among other topics, the Embassy said in a press release.
The meeting took place on Tuesday on which occasion both secretaries expressed the belief that direct air link, if could be established, between Nepal and Bahrain would prove to be a milestone for the promotion of tourism and trade between the two countries.

They also stressed that the bilateral relations would be further enhanced if the two countries signed an agreement on visa exemption to nationals from both countries bearing diplomatic, special and official passports.

Ambassador Sundas has also formed Nepal Bhrain Friendship Group as well for the promotion of bilateral ties between Nepal and Bahrain at the people’s level
