Pokhara and Korea’s Gangwon Province sign MoU

Chipledhunga, Sept 6 . Pokhara Metropolitan City, Gangwon Province of South Korea and Green Technology Centre had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the occasion of World Carbon Forum-2019.

Man Bahadur GC, Mayor, Pokhara Metropolis, Choi Moon-soon, Governor, Gangwon Province, and Kyung Naam Xin, Chief Executive Officer, Green Technology Centre Korea (GTCK) signed the MoU.

The MoU has laid emphasis on the project focusing on the development of transport infrastructure with greenery in Pokhara.
It is noted that the project would work to promote smart environment-friendly tourism, innovate smart city technology, undertake scientific study and investigation and propel institutional development of Pokhara.

The projects operated by GTCK in Bhutan and Uganda, among others, in the past were successful. All three parties following the signing of MoU jointly pledged to implement a collaborative project to lessen carbon production increasing in the globe and reduce the effects of green house gas emission.

On the occasion, Pokhara Mayor GC urged others to make investments in Nepal by tapping the investment friendly climate. He also shared Nepal’s commitment on reducing greenhouse gas emission.

The project would not only help frame a tourism sector master plan of Pokhara but also contribute to its implementation, he added.
