Chitwan, Sept 5 . Former lawmaker, who was convicted in corruption case by court, Dol Bahadur (DB) Karki, has been sent to jail.
A team of Central Investigation Bureau today arrested Karki of Syangja currently living at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14, Kalanki, who had been absconding after the verdict of court and presented at Kathmandu District Court for implementation of the verdict.
Superintendent of Police at the Bureau, Deepak Regmi, said that Karki has been sent to Central Jail, Dillibazaar following the court’s order. The Supreme Court had on July 1, 2018 given verdict of Rs 100,000 fine and six months imprisonment to Karki in the corruption case.
A corruption case was filed against Karki at the Special Court on the charge of taking bribe of Rs 100,000 from Raj Kumar Rai on August 30, 2010 alluring him of job to the post of police inspector.
