Education sector should not be politicized: Chief Minister Gurung

Damauli, Sept 4 . Chief Minister of Gandaki state, Prithvi Subba Gurung has underscored that the education sector should not be made a centre for appointing political party cadres.

He said so while inaugurating the 10th annual general meeting and 33rd anniversary function of Adikabi Bhanubhakta Campus at Bhadgaon of Vyas Municipality-1 today.

The Chief Minister also opined that the education sector was on decline in the country as the schools and campuses have become the centres of recruiting the political party cadres and loyalists.

He underlined the need of putting an end to the practice of appointing the office-bearers, teachers and professors on the basis of political affiliation. Rather the appointments should be made on the basis of qualification and expertise, he added.

Chief Minister Gurung expressed happiness over the Adikabi Bhanubhakta Campus’ making significant progress and the local community for managing the campus so well.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the Gandaki State, Hari Bahadur Chuman committed the support of the state government for the expansion and development of the Campus.

Various persons providing assistance to the Campus were felicitated on the occasion.
