21st NGO conference in Germany to discuss investment on technical, vocational education

Kathmandu, Aug 25,  The 21st conference of non-government organisations (NGO) will be taking place in Cologne city of Germany this week. The conference aims to find measures for the promotion of technical and vocational education in Nepal.

The event to be organised by the German-Nepal Friendship Association will discuss the possibilities for bringing about foreign investment, technology and knowledge to promote technical and vocational education which was highly realised need of the hour, said Association Chair Ram Pratap Thapa.

Germany’s Ambassador for Nepal Ronald Schafer will deliver key-note speech during the conference. Thapa, also Nepal’s Consular General for Germany, and Prof Beatrice Knerr of Gottingen will have their special presentations on the occasion.

Paper presentations on the topics of “Technical Education in Nepal -Challenges and opportunities” by Poshnath Adhikari and “Overview of the Present Situation of the Nepali NGOs” by Krishna Adhikari have been scheduled during the conference.

It will be attended by representatives from several Germany-based organisations assisting Nepal for different causes, the Association said.
