Butwal, Aug 24 : Minster for Communications and Information Technology Gokul Prasad Baskota has claimed that the government has laid the foundation for country’s prosperity and its outcome would manifest soon.
As the struggle for attainment of political rights is over, now is the time for production, construction and development, Minster Baskota said. Production sector would be strengthened to boost productivity and it would be utilized towards attaining prosperity, he noted.
Addressing a programme at Shitganga municipality in Arghakhanchi today, Minster Baskota, also the spokesperson of the government, assured that the incumbent government would never betray the people’s trust.
The government would present itself in a stronger way from now onward, he said, adding the people would evaluate government’s performance in next election. “The government would not give any value to the rumours made against our works. It is now preparing plans to rope in private sector and cooperatives to materialize prosperity dream”.
He further said the government is working in a way to increase economic growth to 8.5 percent next year from 7.1 percent this year. Directing the government bodies to expedite the development works in an effective way, the information minster clarified that there would be no politics in the development works.
He also noted that the mass media and journalism sector should be made more accountable, responsible and transparent. “The government-proposed bill would strengthen the mass media”, he argued. Pledging that 4G service would be expanded in Arghakhanchi within a year, he said Nepal Telecom’s landline service would be extended in Shitganga municipality.
