Surunga, Aug 5,Two adolescent sisters who went missing from Jhapa, Birtamod-4 since July 30 have been found in Purniya of India. According to Mohan Thapa, Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) of Area Police Office, Anarmani, they were able to find Pooja Saha, 16, and Punjan Saha, 14, in India in collaboration with Interpol.
The sister duo went disappeared when they were on the way to their school. Police had intensified the search for the missing sisters once their family informed about the incident, Thapa said.
Informing that the police had taken ahead the investigation being sensitive to the possible involvement of human traffickers, he said the search operation was put in place in collaboration with Indian Police and Maiti Nepal.
The sister duo were detected through the tracking of their mobile, Thapa said, adding collaboration with Indian Police made it possible to find them. The Saha sisters will be taken back to Nepal today, police said.
