Truss bridge opens in Nangkhel

Bhaktapur, July 31, A truss bridge has been brought into operation at Nangkhel of Surya Binayak municipality, ward number 9. Lawmaker and former minister Mahesh Basnet inaugurated the bridge constructed at his initiation.

On the occasion, Basnet said the far-flung areas in Bhaktapur district would be made accessible like Nangkhel in the next three years. “We have already prepared the detailed project report of all projects from road to water supply in Bhaktapur.

We will now get down to the implementation. Every village in Bhaktapur will have road, water supply and bridges and other facilities three years from now,” he said.

The lawmaker from the district also said construction of the road from Palase to Doleshwar would be completed before the Dasain festival.

He also mentioned about the Divyashwari Large Water Supply Project which he said would supply potable water to 300 households once concluded, relieving the Suryabinayak area of the shortage of water.

Surya Binayak, Ward Number 9 chair Upendra KC said the bridge has been constructed at a total cost of Rs 2.2 million. Of this cost, Rs 1.1 million was provided by Surya Binayak municipality.
