Gandaki state CM Gurung offers sorrow over death in flooding

Kaski, July 26, Chief Minister of Gandaki State Prithivi Subba Gurung has expressed his sorrow over the loss of human and physical property caused by the flooding in local Dordi river on July 24.

He in a statement also extended his tribute to those killed in the flooding, and condolences to the deceased’s families and relatives.

He asked all to help with rescue and relief efforts, and stay alert and adopt preparedness. At least 11 people were swept away by the flooded river.

The bodies of four were recovered, and seven others are still missing in the disaster, said the police. The dead and the missing were workers for the under-construction Upper Dordi ‘A’ Hydropower Project.
