Kathmandu, Jan 25: The ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has strongly denounced the US intervention in Venezuela.
Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda on Friday issued a press statement, stating that the US and its ally’s intervention in the internal affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela was against the principle of sovereignty of Venezuela and democratically elected President of the country.
Chairman Dahal has expressed his party solidarity in support of the people of Venezuela and democratically elected President of Nicolas Maduro.
“It was an intention of increasing the violence by dividing the people and challenging democracy, sovereignty, and peace,” Chairman Dahal also the former Prime Minister said, adding that the self-declaration of Juan Guaido, as the acting President of Venezuela and immediate recognition of him by the US and other regional states, clearly shows the grand design of going against the legitimately elected President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro and Venezuelan people.
Chairman Dahal further argued, “It is an unacceptable intrusion in internal affairs and an attempt of the imperialist coup. The US has been trying to create chaos and violence putting inhuman economic sanctions and threatening military intervention in Venezuela since last decade. It is a serious challenge to the UN Charter and the Principle of Peaceful Co-existence.”
The party has further called the US and other countries to respect the principle of the noninterference, national sovereignty, and peaceful coexistence. The party has urged the UN and other international communities to stand for the solidarity and support of the people of Venezuela.
