Change in State Chiefs normal: NCP Chair Dahal

Ranjha, Nov 5,  The major ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the latest change in the faces of state chiefs was a natural process. In his address to a press meet organised by the Press Organisation, Banke chapter at Nepalgunj Airport today, Dahal was of the view of taking the decision as a normal one.

“State chiefs remain as the representatives of the federal government and the change in those faces is expected with the change in the government leadership. But the government waited for two years to make this change,” he said.

This should not be taken as an unexpected and unusual move. The government showed respect to the previous State Chiefs by not replacing them with new faces for two years, he claimed, adding that it was the tradition in other countries as well that such representatives were replaced with the government change.” He took time to say that lately he was playing the role of a mediator by taking the people’s voices to the Singha Durbar.

He was confident of the party’s victory in the upcoming by-election also. “Preparations for by-polls are going on. We have finalized the candidates to contest the by-polls unanimously,” the NCP chair said, claiming that a victory was sure as the leadership and the entire party mechanism was dedicated to winning the people’s heart.

He was here to attend a festival reception organised by the NCP, Banke district chapter on the occasion of the Tihar, Chhath and Moharram festivals.
