Parbat, Oct 21, A drinking water scheme operated at Bihadi rural municipality in southern Parbat has been completed after a hiatus of 23 years. The Lise Gairha drinking water and sanitation scheme which was initiated to provide drinking water service to the residents of Bihadi rural municipality-2 Barrachaur and ward-3 Ranipani has been completed after 23 years.
Owing to the dispute on source of water, the scheme initiated in 1996 was in limbo despite completing 70 percent of its works. Following the resolve of the dispute on water source, the construction of drinking water scheme gained momentum and was completed with support from Western Nepal Rural Drinking Water and Sanitation Project (second phase) as well as the mobilization of people’s kind labour.
Tap stands were installed in 193 households of two wards after the accomplishment of the project while it has also provided drinking water service to public schools, institutions and temples.
