Lamahi, Sept 30, A seed processing centre has been established in Rajapur of Tulasipur-6 with the objective of producing quality seeds for the farmers in and around the district. The centre established by the Rukumeli Agro Seed Centre was inaugurated on Sunday.
The centre received 50 per cent grant assistance from the Ministry of Agriculture Development in establishing the processing plant at a cost of Rs. 30 million, according to the Chairperson of the Centre Nirmal Kumar Acharya.
The centre will be purchasing seeds from farmers in Rukum, Salyan, Rolpa and Dang districts to sell it after processing. Supply of quality and developed seeds from the centre is expected to help farmers increase their production, said Program Manager of the Developed Seeds Programme under the Agriculture Ministry.
