Awareness rally against dengue in Dadeldhura

Dadeldhura, Sept 18, The cases of dengue have been detected in hilly and mountainous districts including in Dadeldhura in the Far West State. Generally, the disease which is caused by mosquito bite is the health issue faced by Terai districts.

Bearing this in mind, the awareness rally against dengue was taken out today in the district on the initiatives of the Nepali Congress. Mosquito repellent was also sprayed in Bagbazar, the district headquarters, and its adjoining areas. Public have been urged to keep the house, courtyard and surroundings neat and clean.

The Dadeldhura District Hospital confirmed that so far three Dadeldhura folks have been diagnosed with dengue. Similarly, Bajhang and Doti has reported one case each, Dadeldhura Hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Jitendra Kandel said.

According to him, scrub typhus also appears as one of the challenging health issues in the district, he said. In the past three weeks, over 50 were diagnosed with scrub typhus, Hospital Lab Chief Ishwori Bhusal said. NC central representative Antaram Bhatta, Bel Bahadur Rana and other district level leaders and intellectuals were present on the occasion.
