Kathmandu, Aug 30. A delegation of Japan’s women parliamentarians has said that Nepal has set an example in women empowerment sector.
During the meeting with senior members of cabinet, the delegation led by Tomomi INADA praised the women empowerment of Nepal despite various challenges in education and health sectors that women have to face.
The delegation held separate meetings with Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradeep Gyawali, and Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen, Thamamaya Thapa, on Friday, and expressed commitment to provide possible support in tourism promotion and make Visit Nepal year-2020 a success.
Praising the re-operation of direct air flight between Nepal and Japan after 12 years, the delegation expressed the belief that the operation of flight to Japan would help promote tourism of both countries.
On the occasion, Foreign Minister Gyawali urged Japanese investors to encourage for capital mobilization in Nepal and called the investors to utilize the opportunity as investment in agriculture, tourism and hydropower sectors would give enough return.
He said that Nepal has expected additional support from thrust-worthy development partner like Japan. Minister Gyawali also expressed gratitude towards Japanese government for its continuous support in Nepal’s socio-economic development as well as physical infrastructure development.
Meanwhile, the Japanese delegation took stock of post earthquake reconstruction task taking place in Patan Durbar Square and Thapathali-based Indra Rajyalaxmi Maternity Hospital today itself.
