Taplejung, Aug 27, Nepali immigrants in Hong Kong have aided for the construction of a public toilet in the district headquarters, Fungling. Nepali people associated to different occupations in Hong Kong provided financial support for the construction of a public toilet at Tokmedanda-based Hatiyabazaar of Fungling. The toilet built at the cost of Rs 2.8 million was handed to Fungling municipality.
The assistance for the same was raised under the leadership of Taplejung Society Hong Kong. Internal and foreign tourists as well as the general public have been facing trouble in absence of public toilet at Fungling.
Lokendra Angbuhang, vice-chair of the society, said they came up with the idea keeping in mind that tourists visiting here from outside came across hard time in absence of public toilet at main market area. Inaugurating the newly-constructed toilet, Fungling mayor Chhatrapati Pyakurel pledged to arrange a staff to manage the operation of the public toilet.
There was a compulsion for tourists and the general public to go to nearby hotels or forest area for toilet purpose.
