Bajura, Aug 12, Transport service along the Sanfe-Martadi road in Bajura has come to a standstill as it suffered continuous erosion by the Budhiganga River, causing a fall of its earth.
It has been less than a year since the road had come into operation following its completion after 23 years of the laying of founding stone.
It was hit by landslips at several locations. The closure of the road has caused inconvenience to the Bajura folks. According to police, the road at Amkot area of Budhiganga municipality-1 has been collapsed due to soil erosion.
“It seems that it will not be possible to restore the road soon,” said engineer Daman Bista of Road Division Office, Sanfe. Prior to this, it had experienced small-scale mudslides which could be removed on time.
” But this time, its nature predicts that it will be challenging to restore the damaged roadway,” he said. Meanwhile, eight families residing in the settlement adjacent to the Sanfe- Martadi road section have fled the homes due to continuous soil erosion beneath the settlement by the Budhiganga River.
Seven families had left the homes in the third week of July while the family of Tikaram Padhyaya had been forced out of the home last week said a local Nawarak Padhyay.
