Doti, Aug 11 (RSS): Ward No 1 of Shikhar municipality in the district has provided food stuff to the women from poor and Dalit community. Ward chairman Khadka Bahadur Sahi said 50 kg of rice and salt, cooking oil and species were provided to 18 women in the ward.
“The ward had allocated Rs 200 thousand; from which, 20 women were provided two month computer training. The remaining amount was used for providing food items to the poor women,” he shared. A local Karan Air said the women from Dalit and poor families were happy to receive the rice.
“With the distribution of food items, the poor families will be able to cook rice at their homes.” Meanwhile, the Equitable Development Centre has distributed hybrid goats in KI Singh rural municipality-5. Each poor family was provided with two goats free of cost.
The families from the ‘very poor financial status’ were selected by the rural municipality. A total of 160 goats cost Rs 1.1 million, said Centre’s Chairman Adhiraj BC. Rural municipality chairman Lokendra Bahadur Sahi said it was difficult for them to assist the poor people, but the Centre provided advanced breed goats. It is matter of happiness for them, he added.
