Ministry prioritises fiscal federalism enforcement: FM Khatiwada

Kathmandu, Aug 4: Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada on Sunday said the Ministry of Finance has prioritised the implementation of the fiscal federalism.

Responding to queries raised by lawmakers in a clause-wise deliberation on the Economic Procedure and Fiscal Responsibility Bill, 2075 that started from Sunday in the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives, Minister Khatiwada said the bill has been brought to make the fiscal federalism more effective.

He said the bill also aims to make budget allocated for government projects more transparent and result-oriented, urging the passage of the bill soon.

“Fiscal discipline should be maintained for economic growth and prosperity, and the government is all aware of it,” the Finance Minister said.
