Hetauda, July 28, Former captain of Makwanpur Cricket Niraj Shrestha has died of blood cancer.
He was 36. Shrestha, who had been undergoing treatment for cancer since the past eight months, died in course treatment at the Sahid Memorial hospital in Kathmandu this morning, according to Cricket Association Makwanpur Secretary Dipendra Dhakal.
He had played an important role in promoting cricket in Makwanpur. Issuing a statement, the Cricket Association Makwanpur has said that the cricket field has lost an inspiring youth in the demise of Shrestha. Shrestha is survived by his wife and a son.
