Kawasoti, March 21 A drinking water project having a cost of around Rs 80 million has started at the Madhyabindu municipality-13 in Nawalparasi.
People here presently face the shortage of drinking water. The project is implemented by the state government.
The project named Mainaghat Drinking Water Project already witnessed the works related to the deep boring construction.
According to ward chair Arjun Pangeni, ground water has been harvested from 135 meters’ depth. Construction of an overhead water tank, pipelines extension and others will begin soon.
Earlier, the State government allocated Rs 7.91 million to implement the project.
Besides, the federal government has provided some financial assistance for the project. The project deadline is of two years and it is expected to benefit some 500 households at Mainaghat, Duwakun and Magarsinga, ward chair Pangeni said.
