Kathmandu, 5 February: Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has urged Saudi Arabia to invest in Nepal since Nepal was on its way to development and prosperity.

The Vice President made such remark during his meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Nepal, Musaid bin Sulaiman Al Marwany, who paid a courtesy call on him on Tuesday.

According to Vice President Pun’s press coordinator Manoj Ghartimagar, the Vice President said the bilateral relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia have expanded at the people to people levels.

“Saudi Arabia has resources. We have immense potential areas for investment. You (Saudi Arabia’s investors), invest in the areas of tourism, hydropower and physical infrastructure,” Vice President urged.

On the occasion, Vice President Pun also expected maximum number of visitors’ arrival from Saudi Arabia in Nepal in view of Nepal Visit Year 2020.

“We are assured of arrival of more number of tourists from Saudi Arabia during Nepal Visit Year. We are convinced the government of Saudi Arabia would publicise the event and encourage its citizens to visit,” Vice President is quoted as saying.

Stating that international airports are under construction in Bhairahawa and Pokhara, Vice President informed that direct flight to Saudi Arabia from those airports was likely.

During the meeting, ambassador Marwany expressed satisfaction towards deepened relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia.
