Kathmandu – 17, Sep 2018 – Sanghiya Samajbadi Forum-Nepal (SSFN) has said the party has made no decision to observe the Constitution Day as a ‘black day’.
In a statement on Monday, the Madhes-based party, also a ruling partner of the federal executive led by KP Sharma Oli, said that it would not participate in any protest programmes on Constitution Day at a time when the government has already agreed to amend the constitution.
“The party has decided not to observe the Constitution Day as the black day as the government has already agreed to amend the constitution and the party has also reached an agreement with the parties representing government to protect the rights and provide additional rights through amendment,” read the statement issued by the party Deputy General Secretary and Chief of Central Office Prakash Adhikari.
The party, however, said that its disagreement and differing views on the constitution are still intact. Earlier on Friday, the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal, a key constituent of the Province 2 government, decided to stage protest rallies on the Constitution Day and deputed its ministers to attend the protest programmes.
